Freight and shipping delays have always been a problem bedeviling trucking. Recent pandemic-related closures have not made it any easier, and have instead, resulted in gaps in smooth cargo delivery. In a joint survey of truck drivers by ATRI and OOIDA Foundation
, a third of respondents indicated that delays were worse during the pandemic.
Truckers are having a hard time convincing clients about these delays which have cost them revenue in the form of irredeemable time lost. Customers too have failed to replenish supplies in time, leaving them dissatisfied. However, dispatch services can solve this problem with their wealth of experience in dealing with delays to ensure that customers understand, and that truckers have oversight and can plan ahead if delays are anticipated.
